PREVIOUS RELEVANT BOCC ACTION: The Monroe County Board of County Commissioners and the County Administrator determined that there was a need to recognize outstanding performance of Monroe County employees. Reference (A) and previous actions established an Employee of the Month/Employee of the Year program. At the August Personnel Policies and Procedures Committee meeting, it was voted to revise the current award of a monthly award to a quarterly award. The Employee of the Year award will remain as it is currently provided as part of this Administrative Instruction. The BOCC approved the changes at the October 19, 2011 meeting. I have continually witnessed her dedication, as she often goes above and beyond in her duties, even beyond regular hours. Her commitment to her role and the community is evident in every task she undertakes, and she always approaches her work with enthusiasm and a strong sense of responsibility. Having spent almost seven years working in the county, I can confidently say that Nicole exemplifies tenacity, diligence, and commitment. With a positive attitude and without any complaints, Miss Petrick consistently supports our department and others. Her ability to maintain such a positive demeanor, even during challenging times, is truly M.C.A. Inst-4000.21 Enclosure(2) inspiring to all who work with her. She has a remarkable talent for fostering a supportive and collaborative work environment that not only benefits her colleagues but also enhances the services we provide to the public. Her responsibilities extend beyond managing Special Magistrate hearings; she also prepares documents for the judge, responds to phone calls and emails, and assists inspectors and county attorneys as needed. Her organizational skills and attention to detail ensure that everything runs smoothly. Furthermore, she manages public records requests and develops our department's monthly agenda. Her thoroughness in handling these tasks reflects her deep understanding of the county's operations and her commitment to maintaining transparency and efficiency. While we all have busy schedules, it is our spirit and attitude toward work that enable us to accomplish tasks efficiently; Miss Nicole embodies this philosophy perfectly, consistently demonstrating a proactive approach to problem-solving and a willingness to lend a helping hand wherever it is needed. With 24 years of service to the county,Nicole demonstrates a genuine passion for her work and our community, and it is my privilege to nominate her. Her long-standing dedication and the wealth of experience she brings are invaluable assets to our team. I am confident that her continued contributions will greatly benefit Monroe County for many years to come. Department Head/Assistant County Administrator Comments: As the Sr. Director of the Code Compliance Department, I echoed Gabriela's review of Nicole's dedication to the department and Monroe County. She is a wealth of knowledge to the public and staff. She conducts herself in a professional manner and goes above and beyond daily to communicate, supply information and meet deadlines. In addition, she reached a 25-year milestone in May with the county. She chose not to be recognized at the monthly BOCC meeting. We celebrated and recognized her dedication and commitment in our department. This achievement is well worth noting. . EMPLOYEE OF THE QUARTER/YEAR PROGRAM Monroe County has established an Employee Service Award which is designed to recognize employees who demonstrate superior performance and dedication to their work which is above and beyond the call of duty. (See Monroe County Administrative Instruction Series 4000.) The employee selected for the quarter shall be awarded a $300 one-time lump sum payment and an appreciation plaque. The employee of the year shall receive aone-time lump sum payment of$3,000 and an appreciation plaque.
