A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF GOVERNORS OF
FIRE AND AMBULANCE DISTRICT I OF MONROE
COUNTY, FLORIDA, ELECTING A CHAIRPERSON AND
VICE CHAIRPERSON TO SERVE A ONE YEAR TERM
COMMENCING ON JANUARY 1, 2026 AND ENDING ON
DECEMBER 31, 2026; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY;
AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Section 22-129, "Fire and Ambulance District 1 created," of the Monroe
County Code of Ordinances, establishes a municipal service taxing district to provide for essential
municipal services, to wit: ambulance service and fire service; and
WHEREAS, Subsection 22-129(c)(2) of the County Code states, "the chairman shall
be elected by the district governing body for a one year term, which may be successive"; and
WHEREAS, it has become necessary for the members of the Board of Governors to
elect a Chairperson and Vice Chairperson for 2026; and
WHEREAS, through this resolution, the Board of Governors of Fire and Ambulance
District 1 hereby elects a Chairperson and Vice Chairperson for the Board of Governors' 2026 one
year term commencing (retroactively) as of January 1, 2026 and ending December 31, 2026.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF GOVERNORS OF
FIRE AND AMBULANCE DISTRICT 1 OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA:
Section 1: That the foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed
as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this resolution.
Section 2: That the Board of Governors of Fire and Ambulance District 1 of Monroe
County, Florida, hereby elects Bruce Halle as Chairperson of said Board.
Section 3: That the Board of Governors of Fire and Ambulance District 1 of Monroe
County, Florida, hereby elects Greg Lewis as Vice Chairperson of said
Board.
Section 4: That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this resolution are
hereby rescinded to the extent of such conflict.

Section 5: That if.any clause,section,other part or application of this resolution is held
by any court of competent jurisdiction to b.e.unconstitutional or invalid,.in part or in application;it •
• shall not affect the validity of the remaining portion or applications of this resolution.
