AGENDA ITEM WORDING: COMMISSIONER MERRILL RASCHEIN: Discussion and
direction on how best to recognize Jim "Doc" Boilini for his tireless service to the Key Largo
community through his work at Jacob's Aquatic Center.
ITEM BACKGROUND: Dr. Jim "Doc" Boilini is an optometrist who has played an instrumental
role in the construction and operation of the Jacob's Aquatic Center. Over the years, Doc has worked
diligently alongside fellow community members to operate and sustain the facility. In addition, he has
served on the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board for an extended period, demonstrating
unwavering commitment, hands-on involvement, and steadfast advocacy. Through his dedication, Doc
has played a vital role in ensuring that the community's parks and facilities continue to operate,
improve, and thrive.
One idea would be to name the soon to be renovated pirate pool as "Doe's Eyeland" in recognition of
his continued service and lasting impact on our community, both as a community leader and an
optometrist.
