ITEM BACKGROUND: Historically, Monroe County has used Comcast coax internet service at the Monroe County Parks that require internet service. ATT recently significantly expanded availability of their ATT Business Class Fiber, which is not as reliable as our ATT MPLS Enterprise circuits (that the rest of our network runs on), but these newly available Business Class circuits are as reliable as Comcast coax connections (if not more reliable) and are cheaper than Comcast coax circuits as well. This item is seeking approval to replace our existing Comcast coax circuits for the Parks, as well as seeking to use it to replace functionality previously provided by a Microwave internet solution and a current cellular solution. The list of circuits and costs is included in the attached spreadshet but the replacement of these 8 circuits will result in a cost savings of$9,468 per year along with a more reliable and better performing service.
