AGENDA ITEM WORDING: Approval to submit a grant application to the Florida Department of
Transportation (FDOT) Small County Outreach Program(SLOP) for the No Name Key Bridge
(#904320) Repair Project. Funds are available in FDOT fiscal years 2028 through 2030 and require a
local match in the approximate amount of$6,980,000.
ITEM BACKGROUND: FDOT SCOP funds in the amount of approximately $3,150,000 are
available in FDOT fiscal years FY 2028 through FY 2031 to partially fund design, construction and
construction engineering and inspection phases of the No Name Key Bridge Repair Project. Grant
applications are due on March 25, 2026 and awards will be announced in May/June 2026.
The county's Capital Plan has $9,763,340 of infrastructure sales tax funds budgeted in fiscal years FY
2027 through FY 2030 to fund the design and construction of repairs to the No Name Key Bridge;
these local funds will be used as the required grant match and the overall amount of local funds
required to fund the project will be reduced by any grant award.
