AGENDA ITEM WORDING: Approval to remove surplus equipment from inventory via disposal
or advertise for bid.
ITEM BACKGROUND: F.S. 274.05-274.07 and Monroe County Purchasing Policy state that
the Board of County Commissioners shall approve the disposal of items that have been declared to be
surplus by the Property Manager within the office of the Clerk of the Courts. Each of the items on
the attached list has been certified by its department to be of no value. Once disposal is approved,
the items will be removed from the Fixed Asset Inventory List.

Fire Rescue worked with ETR, LLC (ETR) to purchase a new, 2025 Horton ambulance using the County's
old, #10078 2010 ambulance box after refurbishing it. ETR is sole source provider that can do

refurbishing and retain the factory warranty.
By doing so, Fire Rescue was able to reduce the cost of the new 2025 Horton ambulance by $2,000.00
and to dispose of the County's old, #10078 2010 Horton Ambulance.
Please note that the County's old ambulance is 15-years old and that the engine and transmission are not

Please refer to the Deletion request's last column. 1t reflects the Original cost of the #10078 2010 Horton
Ambulance at $29,201.60 and it's book value is $7,604.59.ft� � The reason the book
value is soo high is because
• #10078 2010 Horton Ambulance was purchased used in October 2019.
• Used vehicle depreciation life of 8-years.
• Depreciation is recognized once, at Fiscal Year End.
