Direction on the using unappropriated Tourist Development Tax funds to support events,
programming, and commemorative activities throughout the Florida Keys in recognition of America's
250th Anniversary (semi-quincentennial) throughout 2026.

ITEM BACKGROUND: Our nation is celebrating its 250anniversary this year. The item seeks
Board direction on whether to use unappropriated tourist development taxfundsto support events,
programming and other commemorative activities. If the Board agrees, a resolution authorizing the
use of those funds would be prepared for consideration at a future meeting.
