AGENDA ITEM WORDING: Approval to remove surplus equipment from inventory via disposal
or advertise for bid.
ITEM BACKGROUND: F.S. 274.05-274.07 and Monroe County Purchasing Policy state that
the Board of County Commissioners shall approve the disposal of items that have been declared to be
surplus by the Property Manager within the office of the Clerk of the Courts. Each of the items on
the attached list has been certified by its department to be of no value. Once disposal is approved,
the items will be removed from the Fixed Asset Inventory List.

The libraries have 5 electronic devices, aka`media devices'that store and provide DVD's to
customers with a valid Monroe County library card.
These Media Machines are constantly breaking down and experiencing customer support
issues. Libraries provided a 16-page document recording the various issues. This
document is available upon request, or can be viewed as a Workday attachment once
these items are deleted.
The Division of Library and Information Services approves of the disposal of the 4 media
boxes that were purchased via an ARPA grant on their 09/19/2025 email to Anne Rice,the
Assistant Director—Support Services for Monroe County's Public Libraries.
The 51h media box, asset#20002366 was purchased prior to the ARPA grant. The County
used the One Cent Infrastructure Sales Surtax. Therefore,we do not need The Division of
Library and Information Service's approval to dispose of it.
