AGENDA ITEM WORDING: Permission to advertise for a new contract for post disaster and
emergency remediation for asbestos abatement, mold and air quality remediation and abatement, lead
abatement, air duct cleaning, and anything else related to hazardous remediation. This contract will be
utilized in day-to-day emergencies as well as declared disasters.
ITEM BACKGROUND: In the event of a day-to-day emergency or disaster where damage has
occurred to a County facility, the County will need the ability to respond quickly to prevent further
damage to the facility and to return it to operational status. The services will be used to facilitate rapid
and effective response and recovery related to hurricanes and other day-to-day events, as well as to
expedite any potential financial reimbursements.
