Twenty years ago, what was intended to be a temporary position became the beginning
of an extraordinary career of public service to Monroe County. Starting as a Construction
Project Manager in 2006, Kevin rose through the organization to serve as Director of
Public Works, Public Works Division Director, and for the past eleven years, Assistant
County Administrator.
As a highly skilled engineer, he has been a trusted resource for solving some of the
County's most complex challenges. Despite his expertise, he is known for humbly
prefacing his advice by referring to himself as "a dumb, fat, engineer"—usually just before
offering the exact guidance needed to move a project, problem, or decision in the right
direction. His technical knowledge, practical approach, and steady leadership have
earned the respect of colleagues, County Commissioners, community members, and
regulatory agencies throughout the County.
While his accomplishments are many, Kevin's greatest contribution has been his
commitment to people. He is a mentor, a trusted advisor, and a leader who genuinely
values employees and goes out of his way to ensure they feel appreciated and supported.
His relationships throughout Monroe County are unmatched, and his ability to connect
people, solve problems, and bring teams together has made a lasting impact on our
organization.
Congratulations on 20 years of dedicated service, leadership, mentorship, and
friendship. Monroe County is stronger because of your commitment, and we are grateful
for all you have done and continue to do.
