A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE
COUNTY, FLORIDA. AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF RELEASE OF EASEMENT
REGARDING PORTIONS OF LAND ON THE KEY WEST INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
PROPERTY, UPON CITY OF KEY WEST EXECUTING SAME.
WHEREAS, in 1942, the United States of America acquired a certain tract of land including portions
of land now contained in the Key West Intemational Airport property owned by Monroe County; and
WHEREAS, said acquisition of property was acquired subject to an easement for a private road
from Roosevelt Boulevard for a distance of approximately 700 feet; and
WHEREAS, said easement was created to benefit the parcel at the northerly end of said easement
as well as to provide ingress and egress to the servient properties; and
WHEREAS, the servient properties are now owned by the City of Key West and the County of
Monroe; and
'WHEREAS, the dominant northerly end parcel is now owned by the County of Monroe; and
WHEREAS, it is desired to terminate said easement for the purpose of the County fencing off airport
property and to complete an environmental mitigation project on said property; NOW THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA that
Section 1.
Upon the City of Key West executing the release of easement attached hereto as
Exhibit A, the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute the release of easement on behalf of Monroe County.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County, Florida, at a
regular meeting of the Board held on the -1.2..th:lay of September ,1996.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF KEY WEST, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING
EXECUTION OF THE ATTACHED RELEASE OF EASEMENT
REGARDING PORTIONS OF LAND AT THE KEY WEST
AIRPORT PROPERTY, CONDITIONED UPON MONROE
COUNTY EXECUTING A RELEASE OF THE SAME
EASEMENT; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the City and Monroe County share an easement over
property at the Key West Airport; and
WHEREAS, the easement is a private road from Roosevelt
Boulevard of approximately 700 feet; and
WHEREAS, the City and Monroe County desire to terminate this
easement for the purpose of the County fencing off airport
property and to complete an environmental mitigation project at
the property;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY CO~~ISSION OF THE
CITY OF KEY WEST, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: That execution of the attached Release of
Easement by the City is hereby authorized, conditioned upon
Monroe County executing its release of the same easement.

Section 2: That this Resolution shall go into effect
immediately upon its passage and adoption and authentication by
the signature of the presiding officer and the Clerk of the
Commission.

This Release of Easement has been executed by the City of Key West and by Monroe
County on the dates indicated below.
WHEREAS, in 1942, the United States of America acquired s certain tract of land
including portions of land now contained in the Key West International Airport property owned
by Monroe County; and
WHEREAS, this acquisition of property was acquired subject to an easement for a ,f .\~ ,,'

WHEREAS, the easement Was created to benefit the parcel at the northerly :~a~;~
easement as well as to pr()vide ingress and egress to the servient properties; and
WHEREAS, the servient properties are now owned by the City of Key West and the
County of Monroe; and
and
WHEREAS, the dominant northerly end parcel is now owned by the County of Monroe;
WHEREAS, the County and the City desire to terminate their joint easement for the
purpose of the County fencing off airport property and to complete an environmental mitigation
project on the property;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City of Key West and the County of Monroe do release the
Roosevelt Boulevard private road easement more particularly described as follows:
Commencing at a concrete monumented point located in the
Northerly line of the right-of-way of Roosevelt Boulevard,
situated 3600 feet Westerly from the intersection of the Westerly
line of the East Martello Tower military reservation property
and the Northerly right-of-way of Roosevelt Boulevard; thence'
in a Northerly direction at an angle of 83 degrees, a distance of
700 feet to a point which is marked by a concrete monument and

which said point is the Southeasterly comer or'the 42.69 acres
of land conveyed by the United Stat<~s of America to Monroe
County in quit claim deed executed April 15, 1974, and recorded
in the Official Records of Monroe County at Book 586, Pages
277-284; thence Westerly along the Southerly boundary ofthe
said Tract 100 feet; thence Southerly 700 feet to the Northerly
right-of-way line of Roosevelt Boulevard; thence Easterly along
the Northerly line of Roosevelt Boulevard, a distance of 100
feet, to the point or place of beginning.
NESS WHEREOF, the City of Key West and Monroe County have caused this
ent to be executed on their behalf on the dates set forth below.
