Special Meeting
Board of County Commissioners
Thursday, October 26, 1989
Key West
A Special Meeting of the Monroe County Board of
County Commissioners convened at 4:00 p.m. on the above date
in the Chapel at the Public Service Building on Stock
Island. Present and answering to roll call were
Commissioner Douglas Jones, Commissioner John Stormont, and
Mayor Pro Tem Eugene Lytton. Absent from the meeting were
Commissioner Wilhelmina Harvey and Mayor Michael Puto. Also
present were Danny L. Kolhage, Clerk; Randy Ludacer, County
Attorney; Tom Brown, County Administrator; County Staff;
members of the Press and Radio; and the general public.
Motion was made by Commissioner Jones and seconded
by Commissioner Stormont to declare an emergency for the
purpose of considering a special item for the Tourist
Development Council. Motion carried unanimously.
Motion was made by Commissioner Jones and seconded
by Commissioner Stormont to approve the expenditures asso-
ciated with the Royal Bahamas Police Force Band's visit to
Monroe County not to exceed the amounts approved by TDC and
subject to the pre-audit requirements and procedures of the
Clerk, to include costs associated with transportation,
housing (if approved by the TDC) and per diem (subject to
the presentation of proper documentation). Motion carried
unanimously.
Motion was made by Commissioner stormont and
seconded by Commissioner Jones to indicate for the record
that this was a singular incident and not to be considered
as a precedent for procedural action by the Board of County
Commissioners. Motion carried unanimously.
There being no further business, the meeting was
adjourned.
