Plantation Key
The August 8, 1990 Public Hearing/Special Meeting
of the Monroe County Board of County Commissioners continued
and convened at 5:10 p.m. on August 9, 1990 in Courtroom A
at the Plantation Key Government Center. Present and
answering to roll call were Commissioner Wilhelmina Harvey,
Commissioner Douglas Jones, Commissioner Eugene Lytton,
Commissioner Michael Puto, and Mayor John Stormont. Also
present were Danny Kolhage, Clerk; Garth Coller, Assistant
County Attorney; TOm Brown, County Administrator; Robert
Baggs, Project Manager, and members of the Comprehensive
Plan Team; County Staff; members of the Press and Radio; and
the general public.
Mayor Stormont opened the meeting by discussing the
purpose of the meeting and the provisions of the Florida
Statutes under which it was being held.
Robert Baggs, Project Manager of the Comprehensive
Planning Team, addressed the Board concerning the purposes
of the meeting.
Garth Coller, Assistant County Attorney, read into
the record the provisions of Chapter 286 concerning the
possible need of a transcript of the proceedings.
The following individuals addressed the Board: Tina
Henize, Ralph Smith, Robbie Reckwendt, Don Wollard, David R.
Day, William Spottswood, Svenn Lindskold, Irene Bell,
Shirley Kopta, Dagny Johnson, George Parks, Jack Denson,
Michael Fagan, Mike Barr, James S. Mattson (for himself, Key
Largo Lodge, Al Fletcher, Shorty Allen, George De Cario,
Frank Koon and Richard Dowling), D. K. Eilers, E. Kneller,
Kenneth N. Smith, Joan Drejeski, Randy Sadtler for various
clients, Kitty Powell, Michael Chenoweth for clients, Jim
Dugnesnel, Bill Cullen, R. M. "Dick" Sadowski, James S.
Mattson for Coco Plum Beach Property OWners Asssociation,
Dolly Parets, patricia Walker, Lois Stillwater, Bob Ernst,
Pam Marti n .
Mayor Stormont announced that this Public Hearing/
Special Meeting would reconvene tomorrow at 9:00 a.m. at the
Key Colony Beach City Hall for the purpose of discussing
certain of the elements of the Comprehensive Land Use Plan.
There being no further business, the meeting was
adjourned.
