05/05/1988 Regular LL 095 Special Meeting Board of County Commissioners Thursday, May 5, 1988 Key West A Special Meeting of the Monroe County Board of County Commissioners convened at 10:00 a.m. on the above date at Courtroom "B" in Key West. Present and answering to roll call were Commissioner William Freeman, Commissioner Jerry Hernandez, Jr., Commissioner John Stormont, and Mayor Eugene Lytton. Absent from the meeting was Commissioner Michael Puto. Also present were Shelley Brown, Deputy Clerk: Lucien Proby, County Attorney: Tom Brown, County Administrator: Bob Herman, Building Official: members of the Press and Radio: and the general public. All stood for the Invocation and Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Mayor Lytton discussed his recent trip to San Antonio in relation to world-wide planning concerns. He indicated that five members from the Russian delegation and three members from the Red China delegation attended the conference. Mayor Lytton discussed a proposed Resolution con- cerning Principles for Guiding Development. Motion was made by Mayor Lytton and seconded by Commissioner Hernandez to adopt the following Resolution indicating the support of the County Commission of Monroe County and also its intent in furnishing the amendments to proposed House Bill 1356, here- tofore sponsored by Representative Ron Saunders: said sup- port, intent and amendments being accompanied by a letter to the aforesaid Representative Saunders dated April 11, 1988. RESOLUTION NO. 199-1988 See Res. Book No. 66 which is incorporated herein by reference. Roll call vote was taken with the following results: Commissioner Freeman Commissioner Hernandez Commissioner Stormont Mayor Lytton Yes Yes No Yes Motion carried. - Motion was made by Commissioner Hernandez and seconded by Commissioner Freeman to re-advertise a request for proposals to provide inpatient critical care services to Monroe County residents. During discussion, the motion was withdrawn. Motion was then made by Commissioner Hernandez and seconded by Commissioner Freeman to reject the bid from Miami Children's Hospital. Motion carried unanimously. Motion was made by Commissioner Stormont and seconded by Commissioner Freeman to authorize to re-advertise for propo- sals to provide inpatient critial care services to Monroe County residents. Motion carried unanimously. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned. * * * * *
