RESOLUTION NO.4 59 -1996
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA. IN RECOGNITION OF THE
LATE HUNTER G. "SONNY" HARDEN
WHEREAS, Mr. Hunter G. "Sonny" Harden, a longtime resident of the City of Key West, has
passed away at the age of 87; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Harden owned and operated a local business, Harden. Electrre:, for many

WHEREAS, Mr. Harden served as a city commissioner for two terms froi111945 - 1~9; ariB
WHEREAS, Mr. Harden was a charter member/founder of Keys Federal Credit Union, past
president of the Key West Jaycees, a life member of the Elks Lodge 551. a member of the
American Institute of Electrical Engineers, a member of the "Old Coots" Lunch Club, and a
member of the Key West United Methodist Church; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Harden will be an important part of the history of NOW THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY,
FLORIDA that
Section 1.
The Board hereby adopts this Resolution as evidence of its regret and
mourning for the passing of the late Hunter G. "Sonny" Harden, and in recognition of his extensive
dedication and vast public service to the people of Key West and Monroe County, Florida.
Section 2. The Board hereby requests the Clerk to forward copies of this Resolution to
Mr. Harden's widow, Ruth Harden, and family, to express the Board's sorrow.
