Key West
A Special Workshop of the Monroe County Board of
County Commissioners and the Key West Board of City
Commissioners convened at 10:00 a.m. on the above date at
City Hall, Angela and Simonton Streets, Key West. The
following members of the County Commission were present:
Commissioner William Freeman, Commissioner Jerry Hernandez,
Jr., Commissioner Michael Puto, Commissioner John Stormont,
and Mayor Eugene Lytton. Also present were Danny L.
Kolhage, Clerk1 Lucien Proby, County AttorneY1 Tom Brown,
County Administrator1 Bob Harris of Post, Buckley, Schuh &
Jernigan, County Consulting Engineers1 members of the Press
and Radi01 and the general public.
The Boards discussed a request by the Navy to
extend bus service to Boca Chica Naval Air Station. Mike
Derbonne of Key West Port and Transit Authority addressed
the Commissions. No action was taken.
Peter Horton, Acting City Manager, discussed the
use by the County of the City's Stock Island incinerator.
Lucien Proby, County Attorney, discussed bond covenants.
No action was taken.
County Commissioner Hernandez, Consulting Engineer
Bob Harris, and Mr. Ed Swift addressed the Commissions
regarding Smathers Beach and Higgs Beach. No formal action
was taken.
Representatives of Plantec Corporation of
Jacksonville, Florida addressed the Commissions regarding an
Affordable Housing Study. No action was taken.
There being no further business, the Special
Workshop was adjourned.
