Key West
A Special Meeting of the Monroe County Board of
County Commissioners convened at 5:00 p.m. on the above date
at the Key West Courthouse. Present and answering to roll
call were Commissioner Alison Fahrer, Commissioner William
Freeman, Commissioner John Stormont, Commissioner Ed Swift,
and Mayor Wilhelmina Harvey. Also present were Danny L.
Kolhage, Clerk; Kermit Lewin, County Administrator; Lucien
Proby, County Attorney; Representative Joe Allen; Senator
Larry Plummer; Charles Siemon, Planning Consultant; County
Staff; members of the Press and Radio; and the general
public.
Prior to the start of the meeting, Mayor Harvey
called for a Special Meeting on May 23, 1986 at 10:00 a.m.
at Florida Keys Memorial Hospital, Classroom No.1, con-
cerning pre-natal care.
Charles Siemon discussed the efforts in Tallahassee
to provide funding in accordance with the economic assump-
tions included in the County's Land Use Plan.
The Honorable Joe Allen, State Representative,
addressed the Board concerning the various proposals for
funding of the Land Use Plan and the legislative process.
The Honorable Larry Plummer, State Senator, also
addressed the Board concerning the funding of the Land Use
Plan and the activities of the 1986 Legislature.
General discussion ensued between the Board of
County Commissioners, Representative Allen, and Senator
Plummer.
There being no further business, the meeting was
adjourned.
