Special Meeting Board of County Commissioners Wednesday, November 14, 1984 Marathon A special meeting of the Board of County Commissioners convened on the above date for the purpose of conducting a Public Hearing on proposed Land Use Scenarios. Present and answering to roll call were Commissioner Alison Fahrer, Commissioner Ed Swift and Mayor Ken Sorensen. Absent from the meeting were Commissioners Harvey and Hernandez. Also present were Danny L. Kolhage, Clerk; Lucien Proby, County Attorney; Kermit Lewin, County Administrator; members of the County.s Consulting Engineers Firm; members of the Press and Radio; and the general public. All stood for the Invocation and Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Mayor Sorensen discussed the Plan and rules of pro- cedure to be followed for the several Public Hearings called for the purpose of receiving public input into the proposed Land Use Scenarios. ----- Prior to public input, Mr. Charles Siemon and Mr. Lane Kendig of the County's Consulting Firm addressed the Board and the public present concerning the status of the planning effort up to the point of the Public Hearings. Motion was made by Commissioner Swift and seconded by Commissioner Fahrer to close the list of names of persons wishing to address the Board concerning this matter. Motion carried unanimously. The following individuals addressed the Board con- cerning the proposed Land Use Scenarios: John Dutton, Ray Moose, Ray MacLean, David Paul Horan, G. Webster, Joan Tucker, John Ploegert, Arthur Ayers, Al Fried, Eugene F. Dwyer, Bill Paulsen, John Scharach, Mr. Cleare and Ann Filer, and George Kundtz who submitted for the record the following items: 1. Letter from DER dated October 11, 1984 2. Letter from DNR dated October 18, 1984 3. Letter from the Office of the Governor dated October 30, 1984 4. Letter from the Middle Keys Citizens Association dated September 5, 1984 5.
