01/16/1986 Special EE ~44 Special Meeting/Public Hearing Board of County Commissioners Thursday, January 16, 1986 Key West A Special Meeting of the Board of County Commissioners concerning the Proposed Monroe County Land Use convened on the above date at 7:00 p.m. in Courtroom B in Key West. Present and answering to roll call were Commissioner Alison Fahrer, Commissioner William Freeman, Commissioner John Stormont, Commissioner Ed Swift, and Mayor Wilhelmina Harvey. Also present were Danny L. Kolhage, Clerk; Lucien Proby, County Attorney; Charles Pattison, Building, Planning and Zoning Director; Planning Staff; Charles Siemon and Wendy Larsen, Planning Consultants; mem- bers of the Press and Radio; and the general public. Mr. Pattison discussed the LPA Hearing held on January 14th in Marathon. He also discussed with the Board the recommendations of the Local Planning Agency as per the memorandum from Mr. Pattison dated January 16, 1986. Mayor Harvey then proceeded with the Public Hearing. The following individuals addressed the Board: Eugene Lytton; A. T. Johnstone, President of Coral Shores Property Owners Association; Al Fried; Cleare Filer; Marie Landry; Waldo Graton; and Stanley Stewart. Following the input, Commissioner Fahrer discussed with the Board and presented a first draft of the North Key Largo Area of Critical Concern. Commissioner Swift asked for a point of personal privilege and discussed the funding necessary for the adop- tion of the Plan, its many good points, and the extensive work and efforts of the Planners, Charles Siemon and his associates. Mayor Harvey then advised that she could n~t vote for any Plan which did not provide proper compensation to property owners. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned. * * * * *
