A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, IN RECOGNITION OF THE
LATE JEANNE WELLS
WHEREAS, Ms. Jeanne Wells, 30-year Islamorada resident and wife of Keys artist Millard
Wells for 52 years, has passed away: and
WHEREAS, Ms. Wells provided personal critiques of her husband's artwork, named each
painting, and marketed them: and
WHEREAS, Ms. Wells owned and operated the Wells Gallery at MM 82.5 for several years
before moving the gallery into their Islamorada home: and
WHEREAS, Ms. Wells donated Millard Wells artwork to the Friends of Islamorada Area State
Parks for the annual Indian Key Festival: and
WHEREAS, the Wells' contributed regularly to the Islamorada Chamber of Commerce, the
Redbone Tournament series, the Matecumbe Historical Trust and the Pigeon Key Foundation: and
WHEREAS, Ms. Wells was a founding member of the Florida Watercolor Society and a
former lieutenant in the U.S. Army: NOW THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY,
FLORIDA that
