Special Meeting
Board of County Commissioners
June 26, 1980
1:30 P.M., County Courthouse Ann x
A special meeting was held on the above date. The
following members were present:
Chairman Don Schloesser, Vice-
Chairman Curt Blair, Commissioner Richard Kerr, Commissioner
Jerry Jernandez, Jr. Commissioner George Dolezal was not
present.
Also present were Ralph W. White, Clerk, Michael H.
Cates, County Attorney and Acting County Administrator, and
members of the press and radio.
The Meeting was called to order at 1:40 P.M.
Commissioner Kerr addressed the Board stating that Federal
Agency;
the County should take the guidance and initiative to try and State
Agency.
have the boats released that were confiscated by Immigration
due to the Cuban sealift.
There was discussion by the Board on
this subject.

Commissioner Hernandez moved to adopt the followin
resolution which centered strongly on the effect of the boat
seizures to the economy.
Seconded by Commissioner Kerr. Motion
carried unanimously.

and Staff to meet with the President regarding the boat situa-
tion.
Motion carried unanimously.

Motion made by Commissioner Hernandez and seconded
by Commissioner Kerr to ratify the letter to the President from
Commissioner Hernandez regarding the sealift.
Motion carried
unanimously.
There being no further business, the meet was
adjourned.
