OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA. IN RECOGNITION OF THE
LATE CHARLES WARDLOW.
WHEREAS, Charles Wardlow, a life-long resident of Key West, has passed away at
the age of 76, and
WHEREAS, Mr. Wardlow grew up on Eagle Avenue in his family's residence when
it was one of the only houses on the eastern section of the island, and
WHEREAS, Mr. Wardlow ran a horse and buggy tour business in downtown Key
West in the 1950's and he worked in the landscaping business for thirty years until his
retirement, and
WHEREAS, Mr. Wardlow was a past member and board member of the Key West
Jaycees, the Key West Rotary Club, the Chamber of Commerce, and Past President of
the Key West Amateur Radio Club; he was a past member of Tiger-House Co. #3, one
of the founding members of the Key West Junior Football League, and a past member
of the Key West High School Quarterback Club, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners desires to recognize the late
Charles Wardlow for his extensive public service and his vast dedication to the
community; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE
COUNTY, FLORIDA. as follows:
Section 1. The Board hereby adopts this Resolution as evidence of its regret
and mourning for the passing of the late Charles Wardlow and in recognition of his
extensive dedication and vast public service to the people of Key West and Monroe
County, Florida.
Section 2. The Board hereby requests the Clerk to forward copies of this
Resolution to Mr. Wardlow's widow, Ada Wardlow, to express the Board's sorrow.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe
County, Florida, at a regular meeting of the Board held on the 21st, day of February,
1995.
