RESOLUTION NO.073 -1995
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY,
FLORIDA, REQUESTING THE FLORIDA PUBLIC
SERVICE COMMISSION TO RE-EXAMINE ITS
CURRENT RULINGS INVOLVING EXTENDED
AREA SERVICE AND THE GUIDELINES
APPLICABLE THERETO IN ORDER TO FACILITATE
A CHANGE IN THESE RULES CONSONANT WITH
MONROE COUNTY'S REQUEST TO PROVIDE FOR
COUNTY-WIDE TOLL FREE TELEPHONE SERVICE,
WHEREAS, many of the citizens of Monroe County have requested the
assistance of the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County in securing
county-wide toll free telephone service, and i::::: S :::

Commission do not enable them to quickly respond to these requests, and 1d ;g
WHEREAS, the special and unique demographics of Monroe County require
that something be done to assist the citizens of Monroe County in this respect, and
WHEREAS, county-wide access to critical facilities such as medical
facilities, doctors, schools, workplaces and government offices are affected by this
inability, and
WHEREAS, the Florida Public Service Commission's rules need to be
revisited in order to address this issue, now, therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, as follows:
1, Said Board does hereby request the Florida Public Service Commission
to re-examine its current rulings involving extended area service and the guidelines
applicable thereto in order to facilitate a change in these rules consonant with the
request of Monroe County to provide for county-wide toll free telephone calling,
2. The Clerk of said Board is hereby directed to forward a certified copy
of this resolution to the Florida Public Service Commission.
