RESOLUTION NO. 158- 1995
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY
FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF A GRANT APPLICATION TO
THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE AND CONSUMER SERVICES
PLANT A TREE TRUST FUND GRANT PROGRAM FOR FISCAL YEAR 95/96
WHEREAS, the Department of Agriculture and Consumer
Services, Division of Forestry, has announced a request for
proposals for Rural and Urban Tree Planting Projects as part of
the Plant A Tree Trust Fund Grant Program for state fiscal year
1995-96; and
WHEREAS, the program provides supplemental funds to
cost-share tree planting by local governments on public property
with a 50% cash/in-kind services match requirement; and
WHEREAS, the community has proposed landscaping Crane
Boulevard, Sugarloaf Key, with native palms to create a boulevard
effect and to improve the environmental and aesthetic qualities
of the neighborhood; now therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE
COUNTY, FLORIDA, that:
1. The County Administrator is hereby authorized to submit an
application for grant funds to the Department of Agriculture and
Consumer Services Plant a Tree Trust Fund Program; and that
2. The Board supports the proposal and will accept and
implement the tree planting project if a grant award is offered;
and that
3. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon
adoption by the Board of County Commissioners and execution by
the Presiding Officer and Clerk.
