A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA AUTHORIZING THE ASSIGNMENT OF
RECAPTURED COMMUNITY DEVEWPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM
FUNDS IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED S~,OOO.OO TO HABITAT FOR
HuMANITY OF KEY WEST AND LOWER FLORIDA KEYS, INC. ON BEHALF
OF THE VERY-LOW INCOME/HANDICAPPED HOUSEHOLD OF
FREDERICO RODRIGUEZ, 816 EIGHTII AVENUE, STOCK ISLAND,
FLORIDA FOR HEALTH AND SAFETY PROPERTY IMPROVEMENTS
WHEREAS,. The Monroe County Housing Authority is the County's program administrator for
the County's recaptured funds from prior Community Development Block Grant Programs with the
State of Florida; and
WHEREAS, Habitat for Humanity of Key W cst and Lower Florida Keys, Inc. is recogni:zed as a
qualified partner providing constrUction and housing rehabilitation services to very-low and low-income
households in Monroe County; and
WHEREAS. Monroe County and Habitat for Humanity of Key West and Lower Florida Keys.
Inc. has previously participated in the replacement of the hurricane damaged home of Frcdrico
Rodriguez and Family with a handicap accessible unit and have exceeded the anticipated costs;
WHEREAS, recent damage to sewer connection at the subject property has caused a serious and
immediate health risk to the family and neighbors which requires immediate and unforeseen expense.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe
County, Florida, that Monroe County hereby:
Authorizes the expenditure by lhe Special Programs OjJice, Monroe County Hou.fing Authority of grant
funding in an amount not to exceed $5,000.00 from #100-1005-530340 recaptured under previous
Monroe County Community Development Block Grant Programs for reimbursement/payment for
approved costs for health and saftty property improvements to the property of Frederico/Julia
Rodriguez, and Nery Rodriguez, a very low income and handicapped household located at B16 Eighth
Avenue, Stock Island, Florida,
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County. Florida, at a
regular meeting of said Board held on this 17th day of March, 2004.
