May 26, 1995; and
WHEREAS, Dick Divoll was reared in Massachusetts and received engineering
degrees in different specialties from Northeastern University, Rensselaer Polytechnic
Institute, the United States Naval Postgraduate School and Newark College of
Engineering; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Divoll served his country as a career Naval officer, retiring after
23 years of friendships and service on every continent, with a special love of his years
with the Sea bees; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Divoll was a licensed Florida General Contractor and president
of the family business, Divoll Construction, Inc., until recently; and
WHEREAS, Dick Divoll will be remembered by his family and friends for his
patience, constant pursuit of knowledge, creativity and love of the sea, the sky and
the harmonica; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE
COUNTY, FLORIDA, as follows:
Section 1..
The Board hereby adopts this Resolution as evidence of its regret
and mourning for the passing of the late Richard Leslie Divoll and in recognition of his
extensive dedication and vast public service to the people of Key West and Monroe
County, Florida.
Section 2.
The Board hereby requests the Clerk to forward copies of this
Resolution to Mr. Divoll's widow, Helen, to express the Board's sorrow.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe
County, Florida, at a regular meeting of the Board held on the 21st day of June,
1995.
