RESOLUTION NO. 206-1995
WHEREAS, the United States Navy has declared its intent to make available as excess property
certain parcels of land and facilities within Monroe County; and
WH EREAS, one or more of these properties may prove to be of value to Monroe County and
its citizens; and
WHEREAS, a careful review of the potential of one or more of the properties intended to be
made excess would be in the interest of Monroe County and its citizens, now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA:
Section 1.
That the County Administrator be empowered to review the matter of Navy
excess properties and to enter into discussions with Department of the Navy officials on the terms
and conditions of property transfers which may be in the interest of Monroe County.
Section 2.
That the County Administrator should work closely with officials of the City of
Key West in an effort to coordinate the efforts of the County and the City with respect to excess
properties which may become available.
Section 3.
That the County Administrator may obligate County funds not to exceed
$20,000 to conduct studies, architectural surveys or other research in order to determine the
feasibility of utilizing any excess property which may be made available by the Navy Department or
the Department of Defense.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County, Florida, at a
regular meeting of said Board held on the 22nd day of June, AD, 1995.
