Tuesday, March 19, 1985

A special meetingl,of the Board of County
Commissioners convened on t;he above date at 6:30 p.m. in the
Commission Conference Room,; 310 Fleming Street, Key West.
Present and answering to roill call were Commissioner Alison
Fahrer, Commissioner William Freeman, Commissioner John
Stormont, and Mayor Wilhelmina Harvey. Absent from the
meeting was Commissioner Ed; Swift. Also present were Danny
L. Kolhage, Clerk; Lucien Rroby, County Attorney; Kermit
Lewin, County Administrator; members of the County's-
Consulting Engineers Firm; members of the Press and Radio;
and the general public.
All stood for the Invocation and Pledge of
Allegiance to the Flag.
This special meeting was called to reconsider the
previous action of the Board at a meeting on March 8, 1985,
to remove the Ordinance concerning Ordinance No. 1-1973,
Class "B" Signs, from consideration and to cancel the
remaining Public Hearing scheduled for April 12, 1985.
Motion was made by Commissioner Freeman and seconded by
Mayor Harvey to reconsider{the Board's previous action.
Motion carried unanimously Motion was made by Commissioner
Fahrer and seconded by Commissioner Stormont to proceed with
the duly advertised Public;�Hearing scheduled for April 12,
1985 in Marathon at 5:00 pim. concerning a proposed
Ordinance amending Ordinance No. 1-1973 regarding Class "B"
Signs. Motion carried unanimously.
Mayor Harvey briefly discussed the Design Awards
Program.
Mayor Harvey also advised the Board of a letter
received from Attorney Bill Roberts concerning property
owned,by Helen Dilworth intthe Upper Keys.
Commissioner Stormont presented the Board with a
Resolution from the Monroe;County Library Board concerning
library facilities in Key Largo.
