Statements, for 2,525 sq. ft. of office space at the new Monroe County Juvenile Justice Center on
Stock Island, Key West, Florida.
Please note that two of the original leases and amendments are stamped on the top right comer.
The Monroe County Clerk's Office Original and the Monroe County Finance Department's
Original must be returned to us upon final execution.

Dear Eileen:
After discussions with our County Attorney's office and Risk Management consultant, it was
decided we would omit the indemnification and insurance requirement language from the lease
for the DJJ on the second floor of the new DJJ Building on Stock Island.
We must get approval from the Monroe County Board of County Commissioners to amend the
lease they approved at their October 16, 2002 meeting. Unfortunately, I missed the deadline to
submit the amendment for December, and therefore cannot obtain their approval until the
January 15,2003 meeting.
Contingent upon BOCC approval, I will forward the amendment along with the original lease
documentation for execution.

LEASE AMENDMENT
TillS AMENDMENT, made and entered into this 15th day of January, 2003, by and
between Monroe County, Florida, part of the first part (hereinafter called the "owner"), and the
State of Florida Department of Juvenile Justice, Division of Key West, and Bureau of Circuit 16,
party of the second part (hereinafter called the "Lessee").
WHEREAS, the parties hereto did enter into a Lease Agreement approved by the Monroe
County Board of County Commissioners on October 16, 2002; NOW THEREFORE IN
CONSIDERATION of the mutual promises contained herein, the parties do agree as follows:
1. Form #TCS entitled Indemnification and Hold Harmless shall be omitted from the
Lease documents.
2. All other provisions of said agreement approved October 16, 2002, shall remain in
full force and effect.
