Ordinance 035-1986 Harry F. Knight Tax Collector ORDINANCE NO. 035 -1986 AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMIS- SIONERS OF MONROE, FLORIDA, PROVIDING THAT THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE COUNTY OF MONROE, FLORIDA, BE AMENDED BY REVISING SUBSECTION (5) OF SECTION 12-42 OF CHAPTER 12 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA; PROVIDING THAT PROFESSIONALS WHO OPERATE A CLINIC SHALL BE REQUIRED TO PAY A LICENSE TAX FOR THE PRIVILEGE OF PRACTICING; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR INCLUSION IN THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE COUNTY OF MONROE; PROVIDING FOR THE REPEAL OF ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT WITH THIS ORDINANCE; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, as follows: Section 1. That subsection (5) of Section 12-42 of Chapter 12 of the Code of Ordinances of the County of Monroe, Florida, is hereby amended so that such subsection shall read as follows: "( 5) As an alternative procedure in the event a group of professional persons are operating as a professional association, corporation, partnership~ 6F other group enterprise, or clinic, herein called "Firm," or "clinic", the firm or clinic may obtain one (1) single license rather than separate licenses for each professional member of the firm. The occupational license tax shall be thirty dollars ($30.00) for each person in the firm practicing the profession." Section 2. If any section, subsection, sentence, clause or provisions of this ordinance is held invalid, the remainder of this ordinance shall not be affected by such invalidity. Section 3. The provisions of this ordinance shall be included and incorporated into the Code of Ordinances of the County of Monroe, Florida, as an addition or amendment thereto and shall be appropriately renumbered to conform to the uniform numbering system of the Code. Section 4. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance are hereby repealed to the extent of any such conflict. Section 5. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon receipt of official notice from the Office of the Secretary of State of the State of Florida that this ordinance has been filed with said office.
