RESOLUTION NO. 452 -1995
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA,
IN RECOGNITION OF THE LATE RALPH ARNOLD, SR.

WHEREAS, Ralph Arnold, Sr., a native and life-long resident of Key Westc:has ',-"::;

passed away at the age of 73; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Arnold served the City of Key West as a City Commission~ for
several terms, after having been first elected in 1975, supporting improved recreatinal'.'
facilities and the local Fire Department during his tenure; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Arnold served the City of Key West as a member of the Key West
Civil Service Board: and
WHEREAS, Mr. Arnold served his country in the Navy during World War II; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Arnold served the community as a firefighter at NAS Key West; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Arnold was an accomplished athlete and a long-time fixture on
the local sports scene. lending service to the youth baseball programs of the City,
serving as a Little League Coach, President of the Key West Junior Major League, and
as a District Commissioner of the Florida Little Major League Association; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Arnold was active in many civic clubs in Key West, including the
Moose, VFW, and Knights of Columbus: and
WHEREAS. the Board of County Commissioners wishes to recognize the late
Ralph Arnold, Sr. for his extensive public service and vast dedication to the community;
NOW THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE
COUNTY, FLORIDA that
Section 1.
The Board hereby adopts this Resolution as evidence of its regret
and mourning for the passing of the late Ralph Arnold, Sr. and in recognition of his
extensive dedication and vast public service to the people of Key West and Monroe
County, Florida.
Section 2.
The Board hereby requests the Clerk to forward copies of this
Resolution to Mr. Arnold's widow, Patricia Arnold, to express the Board's sorrow.
