COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, IN:::

WHEREAS, Edward J. "Jack" Key, a native of Key West. has passed" away at lbe a~

WHEREAS, Jack Key was born and raised in Key West, moving to Bradenton, Florida,
at the age of eighteen, where he later served as a Deputy Sheriff in the Manatee
County Sheriffs Department; and
WHEREAS, Jack Key was a graduate of the FBI National Academy in Quantico,
Virginia; and
WHEREAS, Jack Key served as an Investigator for the Florida Department of Law
Enforcement, serving as Chief of Organized Crime; as a special agent with the U.S.
Dept. of Justice; Chief Investigator for the U.S. Senate Subcommittee on Investigations;
Statewide Law Enforcement Agency Coordinator for the Regional Organized Crime
Information Center; and sold surveillance devices to law enforcement agencies and
foreign countries for Westinghouse Corp;
Section 1. The Board hereby adopts this Resolution as evidence of its regret and
mourning for the passing of the late Edward J. "Jack" Key and in recognition of his
extensive dedication and vast public service to the people.
Section 2. The Board hereby requests the Clerk to forward copies of this Resolution
to Mr. Key's adopted mother, Susan Roberts, to express the Board's sorrow.
