A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA,
IN RECOGNITION OF THE LATE EDWARD STICKNEY
WHEREAS, Edward Stickney, a beloved old conch, has passed aWQY at the age of

WHEREAS, Mr. Stickney was a veteran of World War II and served in the CCoast

Guard; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Stickney was a loyal member of the Anchor Lodge #182, as Wll as:~.::

the Scottish Rite and the Shriners; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Stickney was a past post commander of the Disabled American
Veterans in Key West; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Stickney served as Chairman of the Board of the Old Island
Restoration Foundation and was a former member of Sf. Paul's Episcopal Church; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Stickney served the County as Supervisor of Parks, and was later
promoted to Assistant Director and then Director of Public Works, retiring from that post in
1985;
WHEREAS, Edward Stickney brought joy and laughter to his many friends and
family; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE
COUNTY, FLORIDA, as follows:
Section 1.
The Board hereby adopts this Resolution as evidence of its regret
and mourning for the passing of the late Edward Stickney and in recognition of his
extensive dedication and vast public service to the people of Key West and Monroe
County, Florida.
Section 2.
The Board hereby requests the Clerk to forward copies of this
Resolution to Mrs. Marguerite Stickney to express the Board's sorrow.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County,
Florida, at a regular meeting of the Board held on the 21st day of November, 1995.
