Resolution 002A-1994 Planning Department RESOLUTION NO, 002A-1994 A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, ADOPTING CERTAIN F~ TECHNICAL BULLETINS, POLICY STATEMENTS AND INTERPRETIVE LETTERS; THESE DOCUMENTS WELL PROVIDE GUIDANCE FOR MONROE COUNTY4~ CITIZENS WHEN COMPLYING WITH THE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS OF THE NATIONAL FLOOD INSURANCE PROGRAM, \.0 ,C:::,. ~ 1""1 '-'!'~1 ., rT'1 o:J l'-J Vi -'C. w "~ ~. WHEREAS, it is determined that Technical Bulletins, Policy Statements and Interperetive Letters are issued by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to provide guidance concerning the standards of the National Flood Insurance Program which are contained in Title 44 of the U. S, Code of Federal Regulations at Section 60.3; and WHEREAS, it would be of great benefit to Monroe County's citizens to adopt Interpretive Letters and Policy Statements dated 1/92 and the Technical Bulletins and amended Technical Bulletins dated 4/93 and numbered 1-93 through 6-93 and con- tained in a booklet titled Floodplain Management dated November 18, 1992 under cover letter from Linda Loomis Shelly, and provid- ed from the State of Florida Assistance Office for the National Flood Insurance Program, for the additional guidance these docu- ments provide; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Commission- ers of Monroe County hereby adopts the Interpretive Letters and Policy Statements dated 1-92 and the Technical Bulletins con- tained in a booklet titled Floodplain Management, as their inter- pretations of the language adopted in Monroe County Code Sections 9,5-315, 9,5-316 and 9.5-317. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Commissioners of Monroe County, Florida, at a regular meeting of said Board held on the 18TH day of JANUAIF A, D" 1994.
