RESOLUTION NO. 313-1989
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY,
FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR/CHAIRMAN
OF THE BOARD TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT
AGREEMENT BETWEEN SOUTHERNMOST PEST
CONTROL AND MONROE COUNTY CONCERNING
THE PEST CONTROL FOR THE MONROE COUNTY,
LOWER KEYS FACILITIES
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the Mayor/Chairman of the Board is
hereby authorized to execute a contract agreement between
Southernmost Pest Control and Monroe County concerning pest
control for the Monroe County Lower Keys Facilities, a copy of
same being attached hereto.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County, Florida, at a regular meeting of said Board held
on the ~JrJ day of ~ A.D. 1989.

THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into this 28th day of April,
1989, between Monroe County, Florida (Owner), and Southernmost
Pest Control, (Contractor):
WIT N E,S S E S:
That the parties hereto, for the consideration hereinafter
set forth, mutually agree as follows:
I.
SCOPE OF THE WORK
The contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, tools, and
equipment to provide pest control service for the treatment of
roaches, ants, rats, mice, and other common pests on a regular,
monthly basis.
The buildings to be treated under this contract
are the Lower Keys Monroe County Animal Shelter, Bayshore Manor,
the Monroe County Health Clinic, the Monroe County Public Service
Building, the Old Armory Building, the Monroe County Attorney's
Office, the State Attorney's Office, the Monroe County Court-
house, the Monroe County Supervi sor of Election's Office, the
Monroe County Evidence Vault, the Monroe County Sheriff's Depart-
ment (3rd and 4th floors).
All requirements as outlined in the Request for Proposal
dated March 15, 1989, herein attached, shall be included as being
a part of these contract documents.
II. CONTRACT TIME
Pest control service shall be for a period of one (1) year com-
mencing on the day in which thi s contract has been executed by
both parties.
III. CONTRACT SUM
The Owner shall pay the Contractor for the faithful performance
of the Contract and subject to additions or deductions as provid-
ed in any future change orders.
Based upon the price shown in the Proposal herewith submitted to
Owner by the Contractor, a copy of the Proposal being a part of
these Contract Documents, the Owner shall pay the Contr~ctor as
follows: Three Thousand Three Hundred Dollars ($3,300.00) per
year to be paid Two Hundred Seventy Five Dollars ($275.00) per
month in arrears.
IV. CANCELLATION
The Owner may cancel this contract agreement by giving the Con-
tractor thirty (30) days written notice of it's intention to do
so.
v.
RENEWAL
The Owner shall have the option to annually renew this agreement
after the first year for three (3) years. The Owner and Contrac-
tor shall have the option to annually adjust the contract amount
in accordance with the Official U. S. Government Consumer Price
Index (CPI) and applied annually during the term of this agree-
ment.
Increases in the contract amount during each option year
period shall be extended into the succeeding years.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have executed this agree-
ment the day and year first written above.
