A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
!~OE,PO~~, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF
A ~~.. ~!~~ICATION TO THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF
NOti_~,r;" .~J~ CONSUMER SERVICES FOR THE HURRICANE
ANDREW UR AN ~EFORESTATION GRANT PROGRAM FOR AN
INFORMATION/EDUCATION PROJECT ON REFORESTATION,
LANDSCAPE PLANTING/TREE CARE AND MAINTENANCE FOR THE
PUBLIC AND/OR COUNTY EMPLOYEES

WHEREAS, the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer
Services has announced funding for the Hurricane Andrew Urban
Reforestation Grant Program, which will provide up to $5,000 for
successful applications; and
WHEREAS, the grant program is 100% federally funded, so that
no match is required; and
WHEREAS, Monroe County desires to enhance its citizens' and
employees understanding of and skills in reforestation, landscape
planting, tree care and maintenance, now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the Board authorizes the County
Administrator with signature authority to submit a proposal to
the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services for
the Hurricane Andrew Urban Reforestation Grant Program for an
infor.mation/education project.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County, Florida, at a regular meeting of said Board held
on the 16th day of February, A.D. 1994.
