A, RESOLUTION ANNOUNCING THE INTENT OF THE BOARD
OF ::COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AS THE GOVERNING BODY OF
THE PLANTATION LAKE ESTATES SPECIAL TAXING
pr~RICT TO UTILIZE THE UNIFORM METHOD FOR THE
.$E~, COLLECTION AND ENFORCEMENT OF NON-AD
~A~REM ASSESSMENTS WITHIN THE DISTRICT IN ORDER
TO RAISE REVENUE FOR LAKE AERATION AND LAKE
MAINTENANCE.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA:
Section 1.
The Board of County Commissioners hereby
announces its intent to utilize the uniform method of non-ad
valorem assessment, collection and enforcement as authorized by
Sec. 197.3632, Fla. Stat., to levy a per lot special assessment
within the following area:
Lots 1 through 55, an unrecorded subdivision
of Plantation Key or Long Island, Pt lot 6 & 7,
Plat Book 1, page 101, Section 18, Township 63,
Range 38, of the public records of Monroe County,
Florida, known as Plantation Lake Estates.
Section 2.
The levy is necessary to improve water
quality by providing for lake aeration and maintenance within the
described area.
Section 3.
Persons owning property within the district
boundaries are advised that use of the uniform method for the
levy, collection and enforcement of non-ad valorem assessments
means that all provisions of Chap. 197, Fla. Stat., apply includ-
ing provisions relating to discount for early payment, prepayment
by the installment method, deferred payment, penalty for delin-
quent payment, and the issuance and sale of tax certificates and
tax deeds for non-payment.
Section 4.
Upon approval of this Resolution the Clerk is
directed to send a certified copy to the Property Appraiser, Tax
Collector and Department of Revenue by U.S. Mail.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County, Florida, at a regular meeting of said Board held
