RESOLUTION NO. 759 -1989
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMIS-
SIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZ-
ING THE MAYOR/CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD TO
EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE BOARD AND
THE DOMESTIC ABUSE SHELTER, INC., CONCERNING
FUNDING FOR FY89-90.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the Mayor/Chairman of the Board is
hereby authorized to execute an Agreement between the Board and
the Domestic Abuse Shelter, Inc., a copy of same being attached
hereto and made a part hereof, concerning funding for FY89-90.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County, Florida, at a regular meeting of said Board held
on the 13th day of

AGREEMENT
Agreement, made as of the
day of
1989, between the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County,
Florida (the "County"), and the Domestic Abuse Shelter, Inc. (the
"Shelter").
~rnEREAS, a need exists in Monroe County to provide temporary
shelter for battered spouses and their dependents; and
WHEREAS, the Shelter provides crisis counseling and other
appropriate services such as legal services to battered spouses;
and
WHEREAS, the services are provided free of charge and the
Shelter incurs expenses in connection with the rendering of such
services;
NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the services to be
rendered by the Shelter to the County and to persons living in
Monroe County, it is agreed as follows:
1. The County shall pay to the Shelter the sum of $14,250
for the year beginning October 1, 1989 and ending September 30,

1990, on a monthly reimbursement basis.
2. On or before the 15th of each month the Shelter shall
submit to the County its request for reimbursement, which shall
include check numbers, payees, and amounts paid.

3. In order to provide for accountability the Shelter
.
shall keep the cancelled checks representing its expenditures
available for inspection at all reasonable times.
4. After the Clerk of the Board of County Commissioners
exanlines and approves the monthly request for reimbursement the
County shall reimburse the Shelter.
However, the monthly
payments shall not exceed in the aggregate the amount of $14,250
during the term of this contract.
5. The Shelter shall indemnify the County for all claims
of any sort that arise from the use of this funding. In this
respect. Shelter shall hold the County harmless and assume all
responsibility for any claims or damages resulting from the use
of this funding during the time wherein the funding continues.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have caused this
instrument to be executed as of the day and year first written
above.
