RESOLUTION NO. 019 -1986
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND
CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, TO EXECUTE A SIGN
LEASE BY AND BETWEEN THE COUNTY OF MONROE,
STATE OF FLORIDA AND RAHN MANAGEMENT, INC.
d/b/a PIER HOUSE.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and Chairman of said Board
is hereby authorized to execute a Sign Lease by and between the
County of Monroe, State of Florida, and Rahn Management, Inc.
d/b/a Pier House, a copy of same being attached hereto.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County, Florida, at a regular meeting of said Board held
on the 24th day of January, A.D. 1986.

SIGN LEASE
THIS LEASE made and executed on the
day of
, 1986, by and between the COUNTY OF MON~OE,

STATE OF FLORIDA, a political subdivision of the State of Florida,
hereinafter referred to as Lessor, and RAHN MANAGEMENT, "INC. d/b/a
PIER HOUSE, whose principal office is located at 1 Duval Street,
Key West, Florida 33040, hereinafter referred to as Lessee.
IN CONSIDERATION of th~ mutual covenants, promises and
premises herein contained, the parties hereto agree as follows:
Section 1. Description of Premises and Uses. Lessor
hereby leases to Lessee and Lessee hires from Lessor for the
purpose of installing one (1) sign as hereinafter described at
the Key West International Airport owned and operated by the
COUNTY OF MONROE in location A-5, as shown on the attached sketch
which is attached hereto and made a part hereof.
Section 2. Term of Lease. This lease shall begin on
the 1st day of October, 1985 and sball end on September 30, 1986.
-Section 3. Rent. The Lessee shall pay to the Lessor

the total r~nt for the term of this lease One Thousand Dollars
($1,000.00);' in lawful money of the United States of America plus
any sales tax in advance upon execution of this lease. If Lessee
terminates this lease prior to the end of the term hereof, Lessee
shall not receive any refund.
Section 4. Sign. The Lessee is hereby granted the right to
install one (1) sign, two feet high by three feet wide, (2' x 3')

in the area as stated in Section 1. The Lessee shall submit to
the Lessor a detailed drawing of each sign setting forth all
wording to be'placed on the sign including material to be used
in the construction thereof, colors, and a~y other matter relating
thereto for approval by the Lessor prior to installation of same.
The sign shall be constructed in a professsional manner and
installed at the location designated herein in accordance with the
instructions of Lessor.
Se~tion 5. Maintenance. The Lessee shall maintain the
sign in good order at all times auring the term of.this lease and
~f Lessee fails to do so, Lessor shall give Lessee ten (10) days
notice of this failure to comply.~nd upon Lessee's failure to
comply in maintaining said sign, Lessee does hereby give, grant,
and authorize the Lessor to remove said sign at Lessee's expense.
Section 6. Waste and Nuisance Prohibited. Lessee
shall not commit or suffer to be committeed any waste ~n the
demised premises or any nuisance:
Section 7. Taxes.' Lessee shall pay, before delinquent,
all personal property taxes assessed against said sign.
Section 8. Termination and Repairs. Lessee shall at
the termination of this lease remove any sign installed hereunder
immediately upon termination and shall repair any damage caused by
said-removal. If Lessee fails to remove said sign upon termina-
tion of this lease. Lessee does hereby give, grant, and authorize

the Lessor the ri~ht to remove said sign in behalf of Lessee at
Lessee's expense.
