RESOLUTION NO. 125 -1994
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, REQUESTING CONGRESSMAN PETER
DEUTSCH TO REQUEST THE FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION
TO PROCEED WITH A PLAN TO PROVIDE RADAR INFORMATION TO
KEY WEST INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT BY WAY OF RADAR
REPEATERS TIED TO THE SYSTEM AT NAS BOCA CHI CA.
WHEREAS, the Key West International Airport is a scant few
miles from the United States Navy's Naval Air Station Boca Chica,
and
WHEREAS, due to this proximity there is a shared necessity
for information concerning air traffic in the vicinity of both of
these fields, and
WHEREAS, the Navy facility at Boca Chica has e~eriSivc~a~

WHEREAS, despite frequent requests to the Federal A~ati~

Administration over a long period of time, Key West~!nterna~ion~i
Airport is still without any radar information, and
WHEREAS, a repeater system whereby the radar information
collected by the equipment at NAS Boca Chica can be transmitted
to Key West International Airport rather simply is technically
possible, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that said Board does hereby request the
Honorable Peter Deutsch, Congressman, to request of the Federal
Aviation Administration that they proceed with a plan to provide
radar information to Key West International Airport by way of
radar repeaters tied into the system at NAS Boca Chica.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY SAID BOARD that the Clerk is
hereby directed to forward a certified copy of this resolution to
the Honorable Peter Deutsch.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County, Florida, at a regular meeting of said Board held
