RESOLUTION NO. 093 -1986
A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING MONROE COUNTY'S
GRATITUDE TO JACK HORKHEIMER FOR THE ACTIV-
ITIES IN WHICH HE IS ENGAGED CONCERNING THE
VIEWING OF HALLEYIS COMET,
WHEREAS, Jack Horkheimer, through his connections with the
Miami Planetarium and other organizations, has taken it upon
himself to make available to Monroe County and its citizens
certain equipment so as to view Halleyls Comet, and
WHEREAS, the use of this equipment has already been made
available to Monroe County and will continue to be made available
to Monroe County until such time as the Comet passes from view,
now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that:
1. The County Commission expresses its gratitude to Jack
Horkheimer and his colleagues for making available in Monroe
County various instruments and equipment which permits and allows
Monroe Countians to observe Halley's Comet,
2, This gratuitous service by Jack Horkheimer and his
associates is much appreciated and has been a cause for great
attention in Monroe County and has helped and aided Monroe County
in attracting tourists and other friends to visit Monroe County
at this time and in the near future.
3, A certified copy of this resolution shall be sent to
the Miami Planetarium by the Clerk of this Board,
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County, Florida, at a regular meeting of said Board held
on the 21st day of March, A,D. 1986.
