RESOLUTION NO. 113-1986
A RESOLUTION MOURNING THE DEATH OF JERRY
ELLIS AND CALLING UPON ALL CITIZENS OF MONROE
COUNTY TO RESPECT AND REMEMBER HIM AS THE
FINE FIGURE THAT HE WAS IN THE MOVEMENT TO
PRESERVE THE KEYS.
WHEREAS, Jerry Ellis passed from this life recently, and
WHEREAS, Jerry Ellis had been a prime mover and very instru-
mental in the movement in Monroe County to preserve its natural
beauty, and
WHEREAS, the citizens of this County should commemorate and
remember him for these accomplishments, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, as follows:
1. That the County Commission and the administration in
Monroe County does mourn the passing of Jerry Ellis.
2. That as one of the leaders in preserving the environ-
ment and the beauty of the Keys and, in particular, organizing
the Izaac Walton League in Monroe County, all Monroe Countians
should remember with deep respect this fine citizen, now de-
ceased.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County, Florida, at a regular meeting of said Board held
on the 4th day of April, 1986.
