RESOLUTION NO. 147-1986
A RESOLUTION DECLARING MAY 22, 1986, AS BILL
PANTEL DAY; RECOGNIZING THE CHEVRON CONSERVA-
TION AWARD TO THE AFORESAID BILL PANTEL.
WHEREAS, Bill Pantel has been active in the Izaak Walton
League for many years and has been most instrumental in preserv-
ing the natural status of the environment in the Florida Keys,
and
WHEREAS, all residents and visitors who come to the Florida
Keys have had the benefit of enjoying these preservations, and
tVHEREAS, the youth of Monroe County have had a great oppor-
tunity to enjoy the presentations and visitations of the
above-named Bill Pantel, and
WHEREAS, Bill Pantel is recognized by many local civic
groups, the United States Coast Guard and other conservation
associations as concerns his meaningful participation, and
WHEREAS, the Chevron Conservation Award, which will be
presented on May 22, 1986, to Bill Pantel is the highest honor
that any person in the Izaak Walton League could attain and,
therefore, should be recognized in that light, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that:
1. A proclamation be issued declaring May 22, 1986, as
Bill Pantel Day in Monroe County in recognition of his great
contributions to the preservation of the environment not only in
Monroe County, but elsewhere.
2. In recognition of the esteem in which the County
Commission holds Bill Pantel, which should be recognized not only
by the Chevron Conservation Award but also by the active recogni-
tion of all parties and persons in Monroe County, the Commission
does hereby pass this resolution directing such proclamation to
be entered.
3. The Clerk of this Board is hereby instructed to forward
a certified copy of this resolution to Bill Pantel.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County, Florida, at a regular meeting of said Board held
