RESOLUTION SETTING DATE, TIME AND PLACE FOR
PUBLIC HEARING FOR PROPOSED ABANDONMENT OF A
PORTION OF HOWE STREET AND A PORTION OF
COCONUT AVENUE LOCATED IN CRAINS SUBDIVISION,
GRASSEY KEY, MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County,
Florida, desires to renounce and disclaim any right of the County
and the public in and to the hereinafter described streets,
alley-ways, roads or highways, and
WHEREAS, under Chapter 336, Florida Statutes, it is neces-
sary to hold a public hearing after publishing due notice of said
hearing in accordance with said Chapter, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that at 3:00 P.M., Friday, July 25, 1986,
at the Marathon Sub-Courthouse, Marathon, Monroe County, Florida,
said Board will hold a public hearing to determine whether or not
said Board will renounce and disclaim any right of the County and
the public in and to the following described streets, alley-ways,
roads or highways as described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and
made a part hereof.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY SAID BOARD that the Clerk of said
Board be, and he is hereby authorized to publish notice of said
meeting in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 336, Florida
Statutes.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County, Florida, at a regular meeting of said Board held
on the 11th day of July, A.D. 1986.

Florida, to renounce and disclaim any right of the County and the
public in and to the hereinafter described street, alley-way,
road or highway as delineated on the hereinafter described map or
plat, a copy of which is attached hereto.

Attached to this Petition and made a part hereof and marked
Exhibit "A" is. the map /plat/ sketch of survey of Crai n I s Subdivision
of Grassy Key
with the property owned by Petitioner outlined in black and that
portion of Howe Street and Coconut Avenue
Petitioner seeks to have abandoned marked with diagonal lines.
Petitioner seeks to have the above-described portion of
Howe Street and Coconut Avenue
abandoned as it is outlined on the attached survey because:
Petitioner's Lots 9 and 10, Square 20, do not have sufficient lot size to obtain
Health Department approval for septic and drainfield needs of those lots.
Petitioner certifies that the abandonment of said road will
not take away from other property holders' right of ingress and
egress to their property, and that the 19~ taxes on the land
owned by Lawrence J. Bruno
have been paid.
Petitioner agrees to be responsible for and pay for all
costs of a9vertising and recording fees incurred relative to this
request for the vacation.
Petitioner further furnishes this Board with letters of no
objection from the utility companies, attached hereto and marked
Exhibits
and a li~_ ~f the names and addresses of adJ~__~t property
owners, a copy of which is attached hereto and marked Exhibit
"3"
Petitioner agrees to gran.t any easement necessary for the
furnishing of utilities, including without limitation electric
power, water, sewer, telephone, gas, ca,ble and other electric
communication services to the same extent as is common within
this area as to height, width and degree, upon request for such
service or by the Board of County Commissioners through its
authorized agents.
WHEREFORE, Petitioner formally requests the Honorable Board

The undersigned owner of Lot 7, Square 25, Crains's Subdivi-
sion of Grassy Key, hereby consents to and agrees to the proposed
abandonment of Coconut Avenue immediately adjacent to Lots 7 and
8, Square 25 of said subdivision as proposed by Lawrence J.
Bruno, owner of the property immediately adjacent to but on the
other side of said Coconut Avenue. The undersigned hereby joins
with the said Petition as an affected property owner and asks
that the Commission approve such abandonment.

The undersigned owner of Lots 16 and 1, Square 21, Crains's
Subdivision of Grassy Key, hereby consents to and agrees to the
proposed abandonment of Howe Street immediately adjacent to Lots
16 and 1, Square 21 of said subdivision as proposed by Lawrence
J. Bruno, owner of the property immediately adjacent to but on
the other side of said Howe Street. The undersigned hereby joins
with the said Petition as an affected property owner and asks
that the Commission approve such abandonment.

Dear Mr. Keller:
We have received your letter of May 12 regarding the subject proposed
abandonment. The FKAA has no objection to the abandonment of those
portions of Howe Street and Coconut Avenue as described on the attached
sheet. However, be advised that future water service lines to Lot 7,
Block 25 and Lots 9 and 10, Block 20 will have to come across the
abandoned portion of. Coconut Avenue with the FKAA meters located on Howe
Avenue.
