182- 1994
A RESOLUTION OF THE MONROE COUNTY BOARD OF
COUNTY COMMISSIONERS PLACING A CAP ON THE AMOUNT OF
TOLLS THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION IS
REQUIRED TO PAY AS A RESULT OF A ROAD CLOSURE ON USl.
WHEREAS, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has
requested that a cap be placed on the amount of tolls resulting
from the closure of US1 per day; and
WHEREAS, Monroe County has previously approved Resolution
133-1933 which requested FDOT to approve the closing of the "18
mile stretch" of US1 during the replacement of the electric
transmission line, and that City Electric System/Florida Keys
Electric cooperative/Florida Powe~ and Light would pay to Monroe
County the amount of $6,233.00 for each day the to~s~~ar~ift~d;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, as follows:
section 1. Monroe County does hereby set a daily toll cap
in the amount of six Thousand Two Hundred Thirty-Three Dollars
($6,233.00) to be paid by FDOT for each day that Card Sound Road
Tolls are lifted pursuant to statutory requirements;
section 2. Monroe County reserves the right to revise the
cap and/or eliminate the cap if traffic conditions/revenues
change, or if the Board deems it necessary for any other reason;
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County, Florida, at a regular meeting of the Board held on
the 17th day of Jtme, 1994.
