RESOLUTION NO. 193 -1987
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA,
AUTHORIZING THE CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD TO
EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT BY AND BETWEEN THE
CITY OF KEY WEST AND THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA,
CONCERNING ADVANCED LIFE SUPPORT AMBULANCE
SERVICE FOR THE RESIDENTS OF MUNICIPAL
SERVICE TAX DISTRICT I-A.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA:
That the Chairman of the Board is hereby authorized to
execute an Agreement by and between the City of Key West and the
Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County, Florida, a copy
of same being attached hereto, concerning advanced life support
ambulance service for the residents of Municipal Service Tax
District I-A.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County, Florida, at a regular meeting of said Board held
on the 5th day of May, A. D. 1987.

AGREEMENT
AGREEMENT made this day of , 1987, by and
between the City of Key West, Florida, herein referred to as
"City" and the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County,
Florida, herein referred to as "County".
WHEREAS, the City currently provides advanced life support
ambulance service to the City residents through a contractor; and
WHEREAS, the County desires to provide advanced life support
ambulance service to the residents of Municipal Service Tax
District I-A ("MSTD I-A"); and
WHEREAS, the City and the County desire to cooperate to
provide advanced life support ambulance service to the residents
of Key West and adjacent areas in MSTD I-A; now, therefore,
In consideration of the premises and of the mutual covenants
contained, the parties agree as follows:
1. That the City shall pay its ambulance contractor and
shall cause said contractor to provide advanced life support
emergency and non-emergency ambulance service to the residents of
MSTD I-A, as is provided to residents of Key West.
2. That the City shall require its ambulance contractor to
operate a sufficient number of staffed vehicles at all times to
ensure immediate response to no less than 95% of all ambulance
calls per calendar month.
3. That the City shall require of its ambulance contrac-
tor, that every call for emergency ambulance service shall be
answered promptly. All calls for emergency ambulance service
requiring over ten minutes from receipt of call to arrival at the
scene of such call, shall be recorded by the City's dispatch
center and filed with the County's Emergency Services Department,
wi th complete documentation of the circumstances which delayed
the response. Those instances where more than three minutes
elapse between receipt of an emergency ambulance call and dis-
patch of an ambulance, and any emergency ambulance call that
cannot be answered by the City's ambulance service contractor,
shall be recorded in the same manner as a response delay and
filed with the County's Emergency Services Department.
4. That the County shall pay to the City the sum of
$21,300.00 for Fiscal year 1986-87, payable in twelve equal
monthly payments for the said ambulance service.
5. That the City shall account to the County for the
application of these funds to the provision of ambulance service
to the residents of MSTD I-A. ~I ~

The term of this contract shall be twelve (12) months/and
the parties shall cooperate in good faith to carry out its
intent.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have executed this
agreement the day and year first above written.
