RESOLUTION NO. 501

A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMIS-
sIoNERs OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, REQUESTING
THE SUPERVISOR OF ELECTIONS TO CONDUCT A
REFERENDUM ELECTION ON MARCH 8, 1988, FOR THE
LEVY OF AN ADDITIONAL ONE CENT SALES TAX FOR
THE PURPOSES OF FINANCING CAPITAL
INFRASTRUCTURE.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA:
Section 1.
That the Honorable Peter I1chuk, Supervisor
of Elections, be, and is hereby requested at the primary election
of March 8, 1988, to place on the ballot the question described
in Section 2 of this Resolution within the following areas,
to-wit:
All incorporated and unincorporated areas
of Monroe County, Florida.
Section 2.
The referendum proposal to be voted upon by
the electors of said area shall be in substantially the following
form:
Additional One Cent Sales Tax Within All of
Monroe County.
Should there be levied, for a period of five
years within the unincorporated areas of
Monroe County, Florida, and the cities of
Layton, Key Colony Beach and Key West, an
additional one cent sales tax which shall be
used for the construction or reconstruction
of capital facilities such as: recreational
facilities, courthouses, parking, offices,
landfills, roads, bridges, airport improve-
ments,
libraries,
piers,
auditoriums,
riprap/seawalls,
storm
sewers,
and
po-
lice/fire facilities?
For the one cent sales tax
Against the one cent sales tax
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County, Florida, at a special meeting of said Board held
on the 29th day of December, A.D., 1987.
