RESOLUTION NO. 001 -1988
A RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING THE VETERANS COUNCIL
OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA AS A STANDING
ADVISORY COMMITTEE OF CONTINUING EXISTENCE TO
MAKE RECOMMENDATIONS TO THE MONROE BOARD OF
COUNTY COMMISSIONERS IN MATTERS PERTAINING TO
VETERANS AFFAIRS.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, as follows:
Section 1.
That the Veterans Council of Monroe County is
hereby acknowledged as an Advisory Committee for the purpose of
evaluating, observing and reporting to the Monroe County Adminis-
trator, their findings and recommendations in matters pertaining
to Veterans affairs.
Section 2.
This Council is directed to insure equal
interest, consideration and emphasis regarding problems or
contentions involving Veterans affairs in all three (3) areas of
the County, to-wit:
(1) Upper Keys, ( 2) Middle Keys and (3 )
Lower Keys.
Section 3.
The Veterans Council shall keep written
records pertaining to any and all recommendations submitted to it
for action.
All final recommendations must be submitted in
writing signed by both the Chairman and Judge Advocate of the
Council.
Section 4.
The Council recognized hereunder shall have
the following specific functions:
a. Advise the County Administrator and make
recommendations and suggestions to the County Administrator
andlor County Director of Veterans Affairs on matters that
pertain to Veterans affairs in Monroe County.
b. Act in a liaison capacity between the Monroe
County Commission, via the County Administrator, and the
individual Veteran andlor organization which comprise the
membership of the Council. Such liaison must additionally
extend to any known Veteran or Veterans Organization that,
for whatever reason, is not a member of the Veterans
Council.
c. Prepare and submit an annual report, on or before
September 30, to the County Commission, via the County
Administrator, reflecting activities of the Council.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County, Florida, at a regular meeting of said Board held
on the
