024-1988
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County,
Florida, desires to close a portion of E1ma Avenue and an inter-
secting portion of Cupon Road, Piney Point Subdivision, Big Pine
Key; and
WHEREAS, said section of roadway and the adjacent lands have
in the past been used for extensive illegal dumping; and
WHEREAS, due notice has been published and a public hearing
he ld on January 5
, 1988; and
WHEREAS, at said public hearing it was deemed in the best
interest of the public to close said sections of roadway; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that:
Said Board hereby closes a portion of and authorizes the
placement of a barrier or barriers on the following described
streets, roads, or highways as delineated herein:
A portion of Elma Avenue from a point at the intersection of
Elma Avenue and Richard Road to the termination of Elma Avenue at
the mean high water line on the body of water locally known as
Cupon Bight; and a portion of Cupon Road from the intersection of
Cupon Road and Big Pine Avenue to the intersection of Elma Avenue
and Cupon Road.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County, Florida, at a regular meeting of said Board held

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN that the Board
of County Commissioners of Monroe County, Florida, will hold a
public hearing on Tuesday, January 5,1988, at 3:00 P.M. in
Courtroom "B", 500 Whitehead Street, Key West, Monroe County,
Florida, to consider the closing of and placement of barriers
across the following described streets, roads or highways:
A portion of Elma Avenue from a point at the
intersection of Elma Avenue and Richard Road to the
termination of Elma Avenue at the mean high water line
on the body of water locally known as Cupon Bight, and
a portion of Cup on Road from the intersection of Cupon
Road and Big Pine Avenue to the intersection of Elma
Avenue and Cupon Road, Piney Point Subdivision, Big
Pine Key, Florida.
Pursuant to Section 286. Ol05, Florida Statutes, notice is
given that if a person decided to appeal any decision made by the
Board with respect to any matter considered at such hearings or
meetings, he will need a record of the proceedings, and that, for
such purpose, he may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the
proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and
evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.
