A RESOLUTION SUSPENDING THE ACCEPTANCE AND
SCHEDULING FOR HEARING OF PROPOSED AMENDMENTS
TO THE MONROE COUNTY LAND DEVELOPMENT REGU-
LATIONS OR MONROE COUNTY COMPREHENSIVE LAND
USE PLAN UNTIL SUCH TIME AS THE PENDING RULE
CHALLENGES AND DRAW OUT PROCEEDINGS CONCERN-
ING THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY AFFAIR'S
PROPOSED RULES ACCEPTING AND REJECTING LAND
USE DISTRICT MAP AND LAND DEVELOPMENT TEXT
AMENDMENTS TRANSMITTED TO THE DEPARTMENT ON
OCTOBER 20, 1987, ARE RESOLVED,
WHEREAS, on October 20, 1987, the Board of County Commis-
sioners, after many public hearings, transmitted to the Depart-
ment of Community Affairs, for approval or rejection pursuant to
F.S, 380.0552(9), numerous land use district map and land deve1-
opment regulation text amendments; and
WHEREAS, the Department tied the approved and rejected
amendments together in the same proposed rule with the result
that persons substantially affected by the rejections are forced
to challenge the entire rule thereby delaying the implementation
of all the approved changes; and
WHEREAS, it is impossible to evaluate any new proposed
amendments without knowing the fate of those that went before
since what the new proposals are actually amending is not yet
known; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA:
Section 1,
The process of accepting, and scheduling for
hearing, all proposals for amending either the Monroe County Land
Development Regulations (text and maps) or the Monroe County
Comprehensive Land Use Plan is hereby suspended until the resolu-
tion of the pending rule cha11enge(s) and draw out proceedings to
the proposed Department of Community Affairs rules accepting and
rejecting the land use district map and development regulations
text amendments transmitted to the Department on October 20,
1987,
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County, Florida, at a regular meeting of said Board held
on the 5th day of January, A,D" 1988,
